Like my protagonist, Jake Abraham, I'm a child of the '80s.  I grew up watching Columbo, The Rockford Files and Magnum, P.I., and wanted to be either a detective or an author.  Or a helicopter pilot.



I've always been a fan of American crime fiction and in my early teens a new TV show called 'Spenser: For Hire' led me to discover the books of Robert B. Parker, who has been a huge influence on my writing and on Jake - Spenser is his hero.



The response to The Shoulders of Giants  has been fantastic, and many reviewers have said they are looking forward to the next one, so I guess I'd better get on with it!
